Runaway to the Summer Concert Series on The BLVD
On Thursday nights, The BLVD hosts its weekly Farmers Market and summertime Sierra Toyota ● Scion Concert Series on the BeX Bandstand stage, providing the Antelope Valley with a family experience filled with fun, food, and live music. This Thursday, August 13, Runaway will be performing on The BLVD beginning at 6 p.m., and will feature country, classic rock, and oldies.
Runaway was founded in 2010 by guitarists Jim Hinds and Jay Bonanno. They started the band to break away from the stress of their daily jobs as air traffic controllers. The band consists of five members: Jay Bonanno (guitar & vocals), Jim Hinds (lead guitar), Doug Bonanno (guitar & vocals), Ruben Gutierrez (bass guitar), and Jim Deverian (drums). Doug and Jay Bonanno’s father-son duo provides the band’s signature harmonies. The band plays at corporate events, weddings, private parties, restaurants, and clubs, but they especially love playing in their hometown, Lancaster. Gutierrez has played with numerous rock, country, and jazz groups, including a variety of Las Vegas show bands.
The weekly Farmers Market runs concurrently with the Sierra Toyota ● Scion Concert Series, enabling residents to stock up on fresh produce on The BLVD from 4-9 p.m. every Thursday. With more than 25 local retailers and 20 unique restaurants, the award-winning BLVD provides visitors the opportunity to shop, dine, and dance.
